First proper Mexican restaurant during my visit. Truly enjoyed the service and people around. High quality food at reasonable price. Am missing it already.

Came to this part of Sonoma Valley for lunch as part of wine tour package. There were many restaurant options but we felt like having Mexican food so we settled on Maya. We ordered the nachos with self-made guacamole and it was superb. We ordered the fish, chicken and pork tacos… think the pork and chicken were good. Nice authentic Mexican restaurant. Would have wanted to order the margaritas but that would have been risky with all the wine tasting planned after lunch.

We stumbled upon the place as we visited Sonoma valley. The atmosphere is good and the staff is very nice. The best part of our meals were the margaritas. They were strong and flavorful. We got the chips and guac which were nice along with the two salsa. The pork burrito was definitely big and tasted pretty good. The chicken enchilada whole great did make my partner feel a bit unwell after. But over all a great place to stumble upon.

This place is the epitome of a diamond in the rough. Sonoma, while a tourist town, still holds onto its small town vibe. Its mom and pop shops line the streets, the atmosphere is one of community and everyone knows everyone. Here sits a restaurant, that is so unpretentious on the outside, but delivers on the taste, service, and comfort, We ventured here for a family members birthday who not only grew up in Sonoma, but is an ex employee. I can say, nothing was a disappointment. The chips and salsa comes with both a red and green salsa. Both are delicious, but the green is just outstanding. So much so, we got containers of it to go. The pepitas are scrumptious with just enough spice to make you enjoy, For the entrees, I had the “el steak”, which is hanger steak on a bed of veggies and a sauce. First off, they cooked the steak perfectly. The vegetables were perfectly cooked, clearly fresh and a perfect melding with the sauce. Second, I never thought how potatoes could accompany a Mexican style dish, but wow, I was impressed. Others had the mole chicken enchiladas, which I tasted and were great. Their beans and rice… wow! The spaghetti, which just doesn’t sound right at all Mexican themed place, was delightful. And lastly the shrimp enchiladas I’m told were great (I don’t like seafood). The service was absolutely impeccable and the atmosphere was on point. When visiting Sonoma, don’t miss out on this gem and enjoy an amazing meal! Oh and one last thing, the margaritas… oh yes please! They are amazing!!

After spending some time in Wine Country we found this restaurant to have a couple of drinks and a light meal. The drinks were okay, the meal was really good very plentiful so we decided to split it. They serve two sauces with their chips very excellent salsas/tomatillos. Not too busy but we came after lunch and before dinner. Clean restaurant, Quick Service.

My husband and I were visiting friends in Sonoma and they invited us to join them at Maya's. Our friends love this place and I definitely see why, the food, service, drinks, everything was great. They were quick to seat us, they were friendly and the dining area was nice. We were there doing the peak dinner hour and it was packed, however, they were quick. The dining area appeared small but I noticed they were able to accommodate a fairly large party. The restaurant has a casual and comfortable atmosphere.. The food tasted quite authentic. I decided to order the Panucho which consisted of a tortilla stuffed with black beans, your choice of steak, chicken, cochinitas or veggies, I decided on steak. It was topped with cabbage and it included guacamole, pico de gallo and sour cream. I highly recommend it. They made a really good tequila drink, definitely, enjoyed that!! My husband had the Grande Burro, it was a pretty good size burrito and he gave it a thumbs up. We plan to return when on our next visit.
